For decades, this baseball was forgotten (along with its sister ball) in a dresser drawer somewhere in the northeastern United States.
Only recently rising from its long slumber, this ball was once the prized possession of our consignor's father.
This impressive ball saw the light of day only few times over the last 70 years when it was proudly shown to members of the family before being quickly put back into it's hiding place.
As the story goes, Bob and Jack (Bob's brother) Rohrs grew up in White Plains NY and were avid Yankees fans. One day in the early 30's their father George C Rohrs took the boys to Yankee Stadium and were fortunate enough to each come home with a personally inscribed baseball. Official American League (Harridge) Ball, features a beautiful black fountain ink inscription that reads, "To Bob Rohrs - With Kind Regards, Lou Gehrig." Ball is clean with bold blue factory markings and presents in EX/EX-MT condition overall with only a minor scuff noticed on the original labeling. The overall impression of this ball is impressive. To state it simply, the autograph on this baseball in in no way diminished from the moment the superstar Yankee held the ball in his hands. Recently authenticated PSA 7; comes with PSA LOA.
