Talk about a rare relic! This helmet originating from the 1940s still retains the Brine tag inside and is stamped on the leather on the back. Manufactured by Brine Athletic Goods, which is in its 98th year of operation now, the shell of the leather helmet was certainly intended for football, and there was circular and criss-crossed padding added (professionally) to the exterior, perhaps for another use such as military. Regardless, it's a great display item, especially considering its scarcity, as it is a style we have never handled before. Shows good use, but no rips or tears.
