A wonderful work of satire from the pen and inkwell of Boston sports artist Eddie Germano. The cartoon depicts president John F. Kennedy appointing one-time Red Sox center fielder Jimmy Piersall, who creates atomic war with Nikita Khrushchev, gets in Fidel Castro's face, brushes off Charles de Gaulle and debates Barry Goldwater, prompting JFK to state: "Now let me say this about Jim, he sure has VIGAH!" The classic cartoon is dated August 1, 1963, less than four months prior to Kennedy's assassination.
