This spectacular 7x9" photo from the second-ever All-Star Game in 1934 showcases four of the American League's fiercest sluggers: Al Simmons, Lou Gehrig, Babe Ruth and Jimmie Foxx, all of whom were famously struck out, along with fellow Hall of Famer Joe Cronin, in succession by Carl Hubbell during the exhibition. The beautiful photo is in MT condition with original paper caption on the back, headlined: "BIG LEAGUE STARS MEET AT POLO GROUNDS." The image is stamped on the back: "REF. DEPT. JUL 20 1934 N.E.A." As far as the game was concerned, the American League prevailed in a slugfest, 9-7.
