Modeling himself after the legendary Ted Williams, a wide-eyed Little Leaguer dreams of going to the big leagues in this beautiful piece of pure Americana from the pen of sports cartoonist Karl Hubenthal. Known as the Willard Mullin of the West Coast he is one of the very best. The 1965 draft measures roughly 16" x 14" and would make a terrific addition to any home or office.

These select pieces were saved by one of the original owners of The Sporting News Original Art Archives. Coming directly from The Sporting News, they were purchased at auction in the 1990s. These represent some of the better images by the finest artists including Willard Mullin, Karl Hubenthal, Leo O’Melia and the unsung hero, Lou Darvas.
