Large Commonwealth of Kentucky Certificate designating Honorable Charles Herbert (Chuck) Klein of Indianapolis, Indiana as a commissioned Kentucky Colonel. The designation is dated January 17, 1934 and signed by Governor Ruby Laffoon (D. 1941) who was the 43rd Governor of Kentucky and his Secretary of State, Sara Mahan (D. 1966). Kentucky Colonel is the highest title of honor bestowed by the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Commissions for Kentucky Colonels are given by the Governor and the Secretary of State to individuals in recognition of noteworthy accomplishments and outstanding service to a community, state or the nation.
