Really nice looking bat and perfect for a collector that does not want to spend five figures for a prime example used during his playing days. George Sisler was a Hall of Fame first baseman, mostly with the St. Louis Browns, who hit .340 lifetime. He TWICE hit over .400, batting .407 in 1920 and .420 in 1922. When Sisler was a special assignment scout with the Dodgers, he was credited by Duke Snider for helping him learn the strike zone. In addition, he scouted the Negro Leagues, and while concerned about Jackie Robinson's arm strength for shortstop, projected Robinson as a future star at second base. This one is a post-career bat dating from the 1950s, but is just like the ones that he used in games. This could have been made for him as a coach or for an Old Timers game. Uncracked and little use; it is 36" and 38+ ounces.
