Magnificent Mike Modano game used away jersey. The jersey's number 9 has an interesting back-story. As a boy, Modano, a Michigan native, wanted to honor his father's favorite baseball player, baseball's Ted Williams, whose number was 9, as well as honor his own favorite athlete, the Detroit Red Wings' Gordie Howe, also #9. Maybe the #9 wasn't a lucky charm, but it sure didn't hurt. Like Williams and Howe, Modano made the Hall of Fame, putting up wonderful scoring numbers. In a twenty-one year career, center Modano played in 1,499 games, scored 561 goals and tallied 813 assists, for an amazing 1,374 lifetime points. Stanley Cup 100th Year Anniversary patch on right breast. Modano didn't accumulate all those points by avoiding opponents and the boards, so the jersey is justifiably pounded with use, including slash marks, pilling on sleeves and eight team repairs. "A" alternate captain patch on left breast. Loose threads on nameplate and numbers. "Modano 9-W-92-2" patch underneath back tail. Maska and size 56 tags in neck. Fight strap underneath.

Addendum: This jersey is listed in the catalog as a Dallas Stars jersey, but it is actually a Minnesota North Stars jersey.
