Historic fight poster, paper backed by more recently added cardboard. For the July 3, 1931, bout. After German Max Schmeling won the World Heavyweight Championship in 1930, this fight against challenger William "Young" Stribling was Schmeling's first title defense. It was also the first event held in Municipal Stadium in Cleveland, Ohio. Some paper loss, and it appears as if the 12.5x14.4" poster has been taped on verso. Measures 23x34".
