On December 26, 1908, Jack Johnson made his mark on history by defeating Tommy Burns and becoming the first African-American Heavyweight Champion. Shortly after, this promotional poster was made to celebrate his momentous and historic achievement. The poster features images of Johnson in his boxing pose, the house in which he was born, and even an image of him driving his automobile, a tremendous luxury at the time. Framed 16x20" overall, this poster does have slight staining, but still presents nicely for being well over 100 years old.
