While in California working on Lou Gehrig's biopic "Pride of the Yankees" with famed film producer Samuel Goldwyn, Christy Walsh was still in touch with Joe Bihler on a regular basis. In this typed letter, dated January 9, 1942 on Samuel Goldwyn stationary, Walsh is discussing business mostly but gets side tracked with something he recently read in the newspaper. Walsh writes,"According to the papers, I see Babe has had another automobile "accident". I am wondering what the real explanation is." Perhaps the Babe was having a little too much "fun".
From the estate of Joe Bihler, the right hand man of Babe Ruth's agent Christy Walsh and in turn Ruth himself.
