Iconic 1972 Winterland Ballroom concerts B&W advertising poster features Mick Jagger in a classic pose. The Stones "Exile on Main Street" poster (11.25x17.25") also shows small photo of the band and describes Jagger in sartorial focus "dressed in lime green pants and a polka dotted silk shirt." Set up by fabled concert promoter Bill Graham, the four Winterland shows, two each on June 6 and June 8, were held in the most "intimate" venue on the tour, with all other locations being arenas, such as Madison Square Garden and the Spectrum, larger than the relatively small 5,500 capacity Winterland. The Winterland concerts were the first United States appearances for the Stones since the tragic 1969 Altamount Free Concert in December 1969. Fans lined up 48 hours in advance to purchase their tickets, since all seats sold for $5 and seating was open.
