Oscar Robertson's stunning departure from the Cincinnati Royals turned out to be a windfall for the Milwaukee Bucks. The star guard was inexplicably traded to the Bucks prior to the 1970-71 season, and "The Big O" immediately transformed them into a contender. In fact, in his first year with the team, Robertson delivered the Bucks their first and only NBA Championship. This complete uniform, jersey and shorts, was worn by Oscar during his days with the Bucks-circa 1971-72. The green, road uniform comes from his personal collection and was brought home by him after the season, we're just not sure which one. The jersey shows very nice use and has some color transfers on the white trim. It was at one time affected by some water (after it was worn by Oscar) and subsequently the numbers and letters on the jersey were expertly replaced because of the damage incurred. "MILWAUKEE" appears on the front with "1" below it, while "ROBERTSON" can be found on the back with "1" below it. It is evident upon close inspection that the original numbers and letters were replaced, as the original stitch marks can clearly be seen. Remnants and stitch marks from the Rawlings labels can be seen inside the tail of the jersey. The matching shorts have the same red and white trim with a Rawlings size 36 tag inside waist band. The Milwaukee Bucks logo patch on the left thigh is missing but the original stitch marks can be seen. Although the numbers and letters have been restored, this is still an exquisite uniform that without a doubt was worn by one of the greatest players of all time.
