Predictably, Team USA dominated their competition in the 1959 Pan-Am Games led by future Basketball Hall of Famers Oscar Robertson and Jerry West. These white, satin shorts were worn by Oscar during the games, which that year were held for the first time in the U.S. The shorts show nice use; there is some rust staining by the button on the back and at the button fly on the front, as well as at the waist band on the back. There are also a few tears at the crotch area and on the right thigh. The shorts feature beautiful red and blue satin trim with "USA" sewn on both sides. The closest Robertson and Team USA's overmatched competition came to knocking off the tournament favorites was a 14-point loss dealt to Brazil in the finals.
