The 1959-60 season was the last in college ball for Oscar Robertson, but it was only the start of his amazing career and he left a mark in the sport that is still recognized today. The Big O was dominant in his senior year, averaging 33.7 points per game, 14.1 rebounds per game, and 7.3 assists per game. He set numerous scoring records and nearly four decades later - in 1998 - the NCAA Division I Player of the Year was renamed to the Oscar Robertson Trophy. This particular specimen was awarded to Oscar after his final collegiate year, and the engraved plate reads, "University of Cincinnati, Most Valuable Player, 1960, Oscar Robertson." In EX-MT condition, the full size gold metal basketball stands 17" tall on top of an 8.5x8.5" wood base. Before his Hall of Fame NBA career got underway, Robertson was part of the 1960 US Olympic Team that won Gold in Rome.
