A near-perfect Ernie Banks bat, this Hillerich and Bradsby Model S2 was wielded by Mr. Cub sometime during the 1965-68 period. Weighing 35" and 31 ounces, the bat is uncracked and shows plenty of use on the barrel with ball and seam marks. A light "31" is written on the barrel designating the weight, along with Banks' number "14," long since retired in the Friendly Confines of Wrigley Field. A two-time National League Most Valuable Player, the Hall of Famer is remembered not only for his love affair with the city of Chicago, but for the joy with which he played the sport of baseball. Banks is also one of just 27 members of baseball's 500-Home Run Club, hitting 512 during his 19-year career.
