Graded by PSA VG 3. Does a young boy go with his "gut" and trade this card of Babe Ruth for a quart of ice cream. Unfortunately for the vintage baseball card collectors today, most of those young boys in 1928 took the bait and ate lots of Harrington's Ice Cream. This is another of Babe Ruth's elusive cards which was issued immediately after his record breaking 1927 season which Ruth pounded out 60 home runs, more round trippers that season than every other American League team! This card is extremely well-centered, with a tremendously crisp image of Ruth, with an equally well struck reverse. Another reason for the uniqueness of this card is the image of Ruth is a throwing image, a very popular "subset" of Ruth cards, with only a few different issues showing Ruth throwing or pitching the baseball. As one of 34 Babe Ruth Harrington Ice Cream examples graded by PSA, this PSA VG 3 card has only 10 copies which grade higher, mostly a single grade, with not many having the visual qualities of this specimen.
