An incredible archive of theater programs from the 19th and 20th century, this is one of the finest such to be offered intact. From a long time theater collector in the New York area: 1) Many special premiere & record breaking performances including several "Life with Father" pieces (Playbills, silk programs, unused "gold" tickets in envelopes, some multiples). 2) Huge lot of well over 200 playbills dating back to the 1930s including many rarities and great performances. 2) 1977 Chorus Line playbill w/sheet signed by entire cast. 3) Rare programs: 1904 Actors Home w/Edwin Booth, Martha Graham, Marcel Marceau, 1900 Farewell Concert Tour of Edward Strauss, Ana Pavlova. Toscanini, Lunt-Fontaine elaborate silk & cloth program, music programs including Serkin, 1921-22 Arthur Conan Doyle Lecture at Brooklyn Academy of Music and many, many more. 4) Ephemera: Fabulous group of early handbills, postcards, letterhead, Italian Opera, rare Castro-era Cuban Theater History (1906-58), Bob Fosse Funeral program, plus all kinds of dance, opera, ballet, burlesque, opera, music and more. 6) Other programs w/1936 Alice in Wonderland, Max Reinhardt "The Eternal Road" (Kurt Weill), Noel Coward, Henry Irvine, John Barrymore, 1904 Whoop-Dee-Do with Lillian Russell (farewell engagement), many important Opening and Closing Performances, Ballet Russe with Pavlova and Nijinski. 7) TONS of 19th Century material w/some some foreign (Britain & France), many Ziegfeld, Gilda Radner Live Playbill with publicity stills and Lisa Loopner letter. 8) Collection of over 100 published plays from the 18th century. Mostly from the 1770s, many at London's Drury Lane. Everything from 1775 Matilda with name Dr. Franklin "not of Philadelphia" written in to Battle of Hastings. 9) 1880 Sarah Bernhardt Season Program at Booth's Theater. These have never before been seen and are totally unpicked. Well over 700 pieces.
