This award bears a special connection between namesake and recipient. Presented annually for outstanding service to hockey in the United States, this edition of the prestigious Lester Patrick award was giving to the trailblazer's grandson, Craig Patrick, in 2000. The weighty trophy is on a 5x7" wood base and stands 11" tall in total, with original Boffey sticker on bottom and plaque reading "Lester Patrick Award Craig Patrick 2000." With five different members having won the Stanley Cup as a player, coach, or general manager, the Patrick family is considered among the most legendary in both NHL and US Hockey history. As part of his Hockey Hall of Fame lineage, Craig belongs to history as the assistant general manager and assistant coach of the 1980 US "Miracle on Ice" team. This is the one and only original awarded to Craig Patrick in 2000 and comes directly from him, in gorgeous NM condition.
