Member of the Hall of Honor, Dick Hoak is one of the most underrated of all Pittsburgh Steelers. After a dynamite playing career (1961-70), Hoak was hired by the legendary Chuck Noll as running backs coach in 1972. Over the course of his tenure, the Steelers became the dominant force in the running game, rushing for over 30,000 yards and paving the way for the Steelers dominating the Super Bowl during the era. Hoak is the only man to survive both the Chuck Noll and Bill Cowher regimes, and for good reason. Extremely rare jersey, this is the only known offered specimen. All original black jersey with yellow trim and numbers, sports his proud "42" on both shoulders and back. In gorgeous condition, the inside front tail is tagged Rawlings size 46 along with washing instructions and Pittsburgh Sports Shop tagging. This shows spectacular game use with numerous team repairs, slight staining and ripping of the numbers. Back of the crotch piece has been cut off while the front section remains but has been sewn up by the team. Proudly signed in 8/10 black Sharpie on the front number "4" "Dick Hoak #42". A piece for only the most sophisticated of collectors.
