This tremendous, game-worn helmet was worn by Kordell Stewart, one of the most versatile players in NFL history. Though he played quarterback at the University of Colorado, Stewart began his career with the Steelers as a wide receiver. Two years later, however, he transitioned back to his natural position and found immediate success, leading Pittsburgh to an 11-5 record in 1997 and the AFC Championship Game, which they lost to the Denver Broncos. Stewart would take the Steelers back to the AFC Championship Game in the 2001 season, but they would again miss out on a chance to go to the Super Bowl. This classic black helmet was donned by Stewart during the 1998 season and has number "10" stickers on both the front and back. It comes complete with chinstrap, and shows nice use with scratches throughout, including on the logo. The helmet still has Stewart's felt insert for an ear piece, and has been photo-matched to three games: September 27 vs. Seahawks, October 11 vs. Bengals, and October 26 vs. Chiefs (Getty image #'s 100504040 and 72481897). Stewart's 38 rushing touchdowns rank fourth all time. All items come directly from the Steelers archive and come with an LOA from the Steelers. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of Steelers Archives items will be donated to the Chuck Noll Foundation for Brain Injury Research.
