This amazing signed bat was used by Mickey Mantle during the 1957 All-Star Game in St. Louis, where Mantle opened up the scoring in the second inning with a single. Mantle is undoubtedly one of the greatest players in baseball history, as his formidable resume includes 20 All-Star Game appearances, seven World Series championships, three AL MVP Awards and a batting Triple Crown in 1956. The season following the one in which he won the Triple Crown - the year in which this bat was used - Mantle won his second consecutive MVP as an encore. He logged career highs in batting average and on-base percentage, .365 and .512, respectively, and slugged 34 home runs to go with 94 RBIs. Despite Mantle's greatness, '57 was one of the few years of the decade the Yankees did not win the World Series, falling to the Milwaukee Braves. This Hillerich & Bradsby bat has been signed on the barrel by Mantle with an inscription that reads "All Star Game, Mickey Mantle, St. Louis 1957." Model number "M110" is stamped on the knob, and the bat measures 35" and weighs 32.4 oz. The bat shows outstanding use with a handle crack that has been repaired, and light checking from repeated ball contact is visible (many ball marks can be seen on all sides of the barrel). PSA GU 9.5 LOA. Bats don't get much better than this.
