These classic baseball pants were game worn in the World Series by one of the most famous (or infamous) players to ever don Yankee pinstripes, Roger Maris, during his record-setting year in 1961 when he broke Babe Ruth's single-season home run mark. The pants have been tagged inside "Maris 9, Set 2, 61, 36" along with a Rawlings size 36 tag, and "b2" also appears handwritten inside. The pinstripe pants show nice use, with a hole on the back and a team repair on the back right leg, as well as some pilling on the back. They come directly from a former Yankee that was given these from the organization in the 1960s and have been photo-matched to Games 1 and 2 of the World Series at Yankee Stadium. They have also been photo-matched to September 28, 1962, when Roger Maris and Mickey Mantle appeared with Johnny Carson at Yankee Stadium for the Tonight Show. Given the date, it is assumed that Maris wore these pants for the entirety of the 1962 season as well. These pants possess the tale of one of baseball's most polarizing players during one of the game's most turbulent years and very well could have been worn when Maris hit one of his 61 homers.
