The year 1934 marked just the second time in history Major League Baseball put on an All-Star Game. Though the game is best known for NL pitcher Carl Hubbell striking out five Hall of Famers in a row, the AL topped the NL by a score of 9-7, led by a venerable lineup that included Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, and Jimmie Foxx. This Official American League (Harridge) ball was signed by 22 members of the AL squad that year, including the three aforementioned sluggers, as well as Chapman, Simmons, Gehringer (twice), Averill, Dykes, Harder, West, Ruffing, Gomez, Higgins, and Dickey. The ball also possesses a bonus signature, as Hank Aaron's name appears randomly among his predecessors (for some reason Hammerin' Hank signed in 1974). The ball is clean and grades EX with the exception of a few minor spots, and it should be noted that the Cochrane, Johnson, Schacht and Bridges signatures are clubhouse versions. The signatures average 5-6/10, with a large Ruth on the sweet spot rating 5.5 and Gehrig's on a side panel being a 4.5. Comes with PSA letter.
