These two matching pictorials of the Chicago White Sox and Chicago Cubs come from the Chicago Tribune during the year of one of the most infamous incidents in all of baseball: the Black Sox Scandal of 1919. The notorious Sox team was led by "Shoeless" Joe Jackson, who appears third row second from the right with an ominous, perhaps foreboding look on his face, as he was part of the group that conspired to lose the 1919 World Series. The Cubs side was led by Grover Cleveland Alexander, who was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1938. All players appear in the 17.75x11.5" pictorials, and the two are in decent shape for their age despite some chipping. We have not seen the Cubs version before.
