Racism was at a raging crest in some circles when Jackie Robinson broke baseball's color barrier in 1947. These 1931 New York Yankees contracts feature the names of Ben Chapman, who led the Philadelphia Phillies in verbally and physically castigating the Dodger Rookie, and Dixie Walker, who was eventually banished for leading the charge against social justice. Both are signed by the players, Ernest Barnard and secretarial versions of Colonel Ruppert. The contract is NM. Includes PSA LOA for each contract.
