One of the most prolific and popular sluggers in baseball history, Sammy Sosa game-used this great collection from the 2003 season. Included are a jersey, bat and spikes, all inscribed "Game Used 2003, HR 501," with the jersey and bat also bearing the date, "April 15." The Majestic Authentic button-front home pinstripe top bears the Cubs' circle-C logo on the left breast, with letter "C" on the right shoulder and cub image logo on the opposite, and shows tremendous game use with dirt stains throughout. Collar swatch reads "21 48 03 S2," indicating uniform number, size, season, and set, and there are minor holes in the sleeves from previous framing. The blue Easton fielders glove also shows great use and is signed and inscribed, "Game Used Regular Season and Playoffs, 2003." Sosa's name is embroidered in red on the rear index finger, with Dominican Republic and US flag patches, and the glove is photo-matched to 9/9/03 game in San Juan, Puerto Rico and 2003 NLDS Game 5. The Easton bat measuring 35" shows use including bat rack marks and has the original thickly-taped knob. The size 12 Fila spikes bear signs of use consistent with the other pieces, and the blue-and-white leather gear remains in great condition with "SS 21" embroidered on each ankle. Everything is authenticated with Sosa 21 holograms. Sammy hit 40 homers in that 2003 season, ending his career with a total of 609.
