This is THE final game-winning ball used in the game that Roger Maris hit his SECOND home run of the 1961 season. This is from the collection of Yankee pitcher Bob Turley, who saved it from this classic six-hitter. It was obtained from a family member of Bob Turley's by a respected collector with a penchant for authenticity who we have known for many, many years. The piece is accompanied by a Letter of Authenticity from this noted collector from the south. The ball itself is nicely worn from the day it was first used at Yankee Stadium in the magical year of '61. The baseball is inscribed by Bob Turley in his own hand on an Official American League (Cronin) baseball of the year. It reads, "Beat Minnesota 7-3...May 3, 1961...6 Hits." Game balls from the "Race to 61 in '61" are next to impossible to find.
