The early days of cards had limited amounts of ballplayers to present, but there were unlimited ideas for non-sport sets. Animals, countries, flags, and just about every way of life was a topic for early tobacco companies to produce card sets to help sell their products. This collection includes many different sets including a complete set of Indian Life and a nice run of Murad’s College series. All cards grade GD to VG/EX unless noted, with SOME LESSER. This isn’t a MINT lot and we can’t go into detail except for higher demand items. About 374 cards plus 287 matchbooks. Includes: 1910 Hassan Indian Life in the ‘60s – complete set of 50. Grades mostly VG to VG/EX with some better and lesser. Overall pretty clean. 1910 T51 Murad College Series – 74 different, mostly GD/VG. 1910s Hassan Various issues – 49 cards w/Lighthouse (12) and Fable Series (14). 1920s Strip Cards – 7 cards w/#2 Fairbanks, 6 Valentino and 7 Chaplin. Mostly EX. 1920s Actresses cards – 10 with Jane Wyman and Mae West. 1930s Diamond Matchbooks Collection of Actors & Actresses (287) - Diamond Matchbook Company produced several series of matchbooks featuring actors and actresses. This collection is very high grade for the issue, with most of the strikers fully intact, with the covers clean overall. However, some have the usual “strike stains” on the blank inner portion and many have the series designation written on the blank inner portion, most in ink.
