An integral part of four Super Bowl championships, L.C. Greenwood was one of the four members of the Pittsburgh Steelers’ feared Steel Curtain defensive line. This black home jersey is a terrific example, the best of the very few that we have seen as the use is top-notch. Greenwood’s “68” in white is sewn on the front, back and both shoulders, and “GREENWOOD” is in yellow letters sewn on a plate on the back. On the front tail is a Sand-Knit size 52 tag along with Exclusive Pittsburgh Steelers tag and “73” year tag. Some of the anchor stitches on the name plate are loose from use and there are no less than 11 team repairs with two appearing on the “6” on the front, a sure sign of the fierce wars in the front-line trenches of the NFL. These repairs helped us make an exact photomatch to his 1973 season. A perfect example of a game worn jersey from the six-time Pro Bowl selection, who retired as the Steelers’ all-time sacks leader.
