This classic George Burke photo is unstamped on verso because this is a "proof" that was meant to be turned into one of those wooden statues that Burke used to offer privately to players (you can see where the stand is pictured on the bottom). This photograph was meant to be cut out and mounted on diecut wood, through for some reason it never was. This is the only one of these we have ever seen of ANY player, let alone Joltin' Joe. Best of all it is autographed "Best Wishes Joe DiMaggio" in the familiar "rookie" signature variant. A superb piece unlike anything we have ever seen. Measures 6x8" and in NRMT condition, PSA/DNA encapsulated.
