Still considered today as perhaps the greatest baseball team of all time, the 1927 New York Yankees won 110 games before sweeping the World Series. This amazing 9.5x7.5" Type I team photo captures the determination of that squad, best known for its Murderers Row lineup. All of the key team members are here including Babe Ruth - a looming presence in back row, center - and Lou Gehrig. Few smiles adorn the visages of the Bronx Bombers, who presented an opponent as intimidating as they looked. The photo appears in EX condition but it has been slightly trimmed, the back has wire captions talking of how the Yankees will once again be in the Series, along with other handwritten notations. A splendid shot of one of sports' most immortal teams.
