You can almost hear the bell and see the sweat with these Everlast trunks worn by George Foreman when he faced off against Joe Frazier for the second time, on March 18, 1976, at the Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale, NY. And just like their first meeting three years earlier, Foreman proved the more lethal fighter, winning the so-called "Battle of the Gladiators" in five rounds to hang onto his NABF Heavyweight Championship. The red velour trunks feature a faded blue waistband and white piping at each leg. On the lower left leg in blue block lettering are the initials GF. The front-center waistband features an Everlast manufacturer's label with the additional logo: "MADE EXPRESSLY FOR GEORGE FOREMAN." Inside the front waistband is a red drawstring, and the boxer's period signature appears on the right leg piping in black marker. There is no size label, though they appear to be XL, a correct size for Foreman. The trunks have been favorably photomatched, and the signature draws a favorable comparison. Comes with an LOA from Craig Hamilton. The trunks come from George Foreman's brother, Roy, who gave them to the current consignor to Leland's.
