Over 100 personally gifted ties and handkerchiefs of actors, actresses, politicians and television personalities were gifted to collector Jim Schendel, who wrote to famous figures starting at a young age due to illness, and received these responses from the people he wrote to. Some of the more important figures include Jayne Mansfield, Bob Hope, Joan Crawford, J.C Penny (2), Fred Astaire, Jimmy Nelson (bow tie), Liberace, Shirley Jones, Red Skelton (signed), Oscar Hammerstein, Carol Burnett, A.B Chandler (from his last campaign), Eddie Cantor, Jack Paul, Charles Van Doren, Howard Johnson and more. The majority of them are labeled, as Jim was extremely organized and dedicated to his hobby.
