Terry Sawchuk was widely acknowledged as one of the NHL's best goaltenders during his 19-year career, which spanned the 1950s and '60s. This team-signed game used Terry Sawchuk Northland Pro goalie stick is from the 1952-53 Detroit Red Wings, where Sawchuk played the majority of his career games. Signatures of 18 players include Gordie Howe, Ted Lindsay, Sawchuk, Red Almas, Alex Delvecchio, Metro Prystai, Johnny Wilson, Larry Zeidel, Larry Wilson, Marcel Pronovost, Carl Mattson and Tony Leswick. Many signed in pencil on the paddle and a few on the shaft, some signatures are light and show fading. The "Sawchuk" nameplate is in bold block lettering on the shaft and tape is affixed to the blade and handle, with cracking in the paddle. This straight-bladed stick shows great wear-and-tear, a vintage hockey classic for fans of the Winged Wheel.
