Cult icon Jerry Quarry is represented in these fourteen 35mm color camera negatives/transparencies of the 1972 rematch against Muhammad Ali. No longer champion, this was Ali's second fight since returning from his unconstitutional ban from boxing. From the Las Vegas Convention Center on June 27, 1972, this match headlined a fight card named "The Soul Brothers Versus The Quarry Brothers." Obvious racial overtones, Jerry's brother Mike was hurt, and the spunky Jerry Quarry was overmatched. Gorgeous close-up images are in NRMT condition.
The original negatives and images in this collection are by the personal photographer of Ali's manager Herbert Muhammad. Unpublished, they have not seen the light of day for five decades. Recently discovered, they come with the photographer’s rights. All of the negs/transparencies are unique, “Type I” images that can be used to make prints and products of the finest quality and huge scale.
