Here's an extremely rare Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) early 1970s sign. It reads, "This Train stops at 35 for White Sox baseball." This sign hung outside of the station at 35th street where fans stopped for Comiskey Park, which was on Chicago's south side. The CTA made signs of this type for both Comiskey and Wrigley Field; it measures 18x25", is beautifully weather-worn and is very solid, with metal hooks for hanging. The ChiSox of that era were known for colorful owner Bill Veeck, who left such impressions as the "softball uniform" look (complete with shorts and wide, black collars), and the ill-fated "Disco Demolition Night."
