A dynamic action pair at the photo-finish with wind ripping though manes and jockeys at a hellish pace, this is the perfect depiction of action in sculpture. This 1890s French piece by art nouveau sculptor Pedro Ramon Jose Rigual (1863-1917) measures a masterful 17.25x16x9", and this is fresh from a rich Connecticut estate. The quality is exceptional and a luxurious brass plaque on the front reads “AU BUT! Par Rigual” which translates to “THE GOAL! by Rigual.” The artist is the great commercial art nouveau artist P. Rigual. A brass plug in the back reads "Fabrication Francaise Paris Made in France," it has a heavy marble base and is of exceptional quality overall, an awesome representation of the Sport of Kings.
