This Topps Chewing Gum National Association All-Star Team Award silver trophy bowl was presented to honor the top rookie ballplayers in each league by establishing the Topps Rookie All-Star Team Award. Awards were given to promote Topps and its special series of baseball cards, and the recipients of the award, were then featured in the following year's set with special "All-Star Rookie Team" cards. To further promote the baseball cards, Topps inserted a pre-printed ballot card in packs so kids could vote for their favorite players, and Topps had a formal dinner to celebrate that year's Topps Rookie All-Star Team. The presentation bowl is silver plate made by premiere historic silversmiths Gorham YC 773 with silver hallmarks. This great baseball card crossover is beautifully forged, measures 3.5" and is 6.5" in diameter. Condition is NRMT.
