In what many Red Sox fans consider the greatest game of their fandom, Boston capped a historic comeback in the 2004 ALCS against the hated rival Yankees by winning their fourth straight - 10-3 in the Bronx - en route to their first World Series championship in 86 years. From that memorable Game 7 come these official lineup cards held by home plate umpire Randy Marsh and obtained from Marsh with his LOA. The Boston card is dated 10/19 but was used in the October 20 game. Boston's card is signed by manager Terry Francona and New York's is signed (carbon copy) by Joe Torre. Both have creases from having been folded. With no baseball team ever having recovered after dropping the first three games of a seven-game series, the Yankees appeared more than primed to put away the Sox with a 19-8 win at Fenway to go up three games to none. But it was all Boston from that point on, with two walk-off wins and then two more victories in the Bronx.
