This sunning trophy in early American style is by the illustrious Cartier and was won by Main Chance Farm's "Get Around" in 1963. Assembled by Cartier on John Rogers sterling, the loving cup is based on a circa 1800 design. The lid is removable and is mightily engraved, "New York Racing Association, The Withers, Aqueduct, 1963, won by Maine Chance Farm's Get Around." It has a sterling silver ring measuring 5.25" in diameter, is engraved "Columbiana, Won By, Main Chance Farms' - Myrtle's Jet, Hialeah Race Course, February 22, 1956." The ring is also engraved "Sterling" and "Cartier" on opposite ends. A wood base sports a plaque reading, "New York Racing Association, The Withers, Aqueduct, 1963, Won By Maine Chance Farm's Get Around," and the top of the base is labeled, "The Withers," with handwriting reading "John Robbins, 1805, 1806 London." Including the base, the trophy stands 19" tall. The Withers is an important race going all the way back to 1874 and the Jerome Park Racetrack.
