In this lot is a collection of nine maritime postcards, including six Titanic postcards, issued in 1912, right after the disaster occurred. The best of these reads, "The most appalling disaster in maritime history," and has all the details of the composition of the ship, such as length, breadth over all, number of watertight bulkheads and other features of the ship. Includes the Titanic after striking, S.S. Titanic sunk by collision with iceberg and Steamer Titanic. Also a real photo Titanic Memorial from circa 1912 and it is VG-EX. The last is full color and reads "RMS Titanic" and is also EX to EX+. There is a real photo postcard of survivors of the sinking of the S.S. Aleutian in EX-MT condition, L'Amerique with the minister of Belbique and a private mailing card in NRMT condition of Admiral Dewey circa 1898; this is the earliest era of postcards in the United States.
