It was a controversial conclusion but in the end, Irish thoroughbred Sulamani was crowned the winner of the 2003 Arlington Million, where he wore this white blanket with green and gold lettering after coming out on top. Initially, Storming Home was considered the winner, but it was later deemed that that horse interfered at the finish with two horses behind him when he spooked badly just before the wire and unseated his rider. Gary Stevens, who appeared to be struck by two horses after hitting the ground, was taken from the course on a stretcher. The blanket reads: "2003 ARLINGTON MILLION WINNER" and includes both the race logo as well as one from the World Series Racing Championship. After this disputed race, Sulamani won the Joe Hirsch Turf Classic Invitational Handicap, before finishing a disappointing fifth in the 2003 Breeders' Cup Turf at Santa Anita Park.
