A regally bred son of Hall of Famer A.P. Indy, Bernardini was a star in waiting from the moment he was foaled, and the thoroughbred didn't disappoint. In his short but distinguished career, he won six of eight starts, including the Preakness Stakes, Travers Stakes, Jockey Club Gold Cup and the Jim Dandy Stakes. He finished his career with a second-place finish in the 2006 Breeders Cup Classic (to Horse of the Year, Invasor). At year's end, Bernardini was honored with the 2006 Eclipse Award for Top Three-Year-Old Colt - an honor bestowed on his sire 14 years earlier. Offered here is the blue cloth with black lettering trim worn by Bernardini in workouts during the week of the Breeders' Cup Classic. It bears a Preakness emblem.
