Here are some mementos from perhaps the most celebrated streak in sports. Joe DiMaggio hit safely in 56 consecutive games during his MVP season of 1941, and at least four of the ticket stubs included in this lot come from games during that famous hot stretch. They are from June 12 at the White Sox, June 21 vs. the Tigers, July 13 vs. the White Sox and July 19 vs. Detroit (DH). There are also two stubs from April 13 of that season, as well as an undated stub from home "Game 39," which would have been game two of a doubleheader vs. Philadelphia on July 6, but rain-outs and doubleheaders may put the game after the streak.
