Eddie Machen was a heavyweight boxer who fought during the 1950s and 1960s. During his career, he fought Joe Frazier, Sonny Liston, Ingemar Johansson and others. His career record was 50-11-3 with 29 KOs. Presented here is the 1956 Ring Magazine Progress Award, which was given to Eddie Machen for his efforts to advance boxing. This is a two-piece metal award which reads, "THE RING PROGRESS AWARD TO EDDIE MACHEN FOR GREATEST ADVANCEMENT IN BOXING FOR 1956." Perfectly intact in the original box.
