Outfielder Juan Gonzalez won two American League home run titles, but not the year he belted a career-best 47. that season - 1996 - saw the Texas Rangers star earn the third of his six Silver Sluggers, as well as his only Most Valuable Player award. Created by the manufacturer of Louisville Slugger bats, this 34.5"-tall award reads: "HILLERICH & BRADSBY CO. SILVER SLUGGER AWARD PRESENTED TO JUAN GONZALEZ TEXAS MEMBER OF THE SPORTING NEWS AMERICAN LEAGUE OFFENSIVE TEAM 1996 MARK McGWIREI-1B ROBERTO ALOMAR-2B, ALEX RODRIGUEZ-SS, JIM THOME-3B, KEN GRIFFEY, JR.-OF, ALBERT BELLE-OF, IVAN RODRIGUEZ-C, PAUL MOLITOR-DH." It is in EX-MT condition with the Louisville Slugger emblem at the top and comes directly from his personal collection. It is signed on the back of the wood base in black ink with inscription referencing his "original Silver Slugger." "Juan-Gone" batted .314 in 1996 with 47 homers, 144 RBI and a .643 slugging percentage.
