In just his third year as a big-league skipper, Red Schoendienst led the Cardinals to a World Series title over the Boston Red Sox. And for that achievement, he was awarded the J. Roy Stockton Award by the local chapter of the Baseball Writers Association of America. Here's Red's trophy, which stands nearly 10" tall and nearly 9" wide. The plaque on the front reads: "J. ROY STOCKTON AWARD FOR OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENT IN BASEBALL FOR 1967 TO RED SCHOENDIENST ST. LOUIS CHAPTER BBWAA." The trophy is in EX condition. J. Roy Stockton was an American sports writer who covered the St. Louis Cardinals from 1915 to 1958, primarily for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
