Clutch at the plate and sure-handed in the field, Bobby Richardson was, in short, a gamer... and a cornerstone of three Yankee World Championship teams. He wore this home pinstripe Jersey in 1963, the ninth of his 12 seasons in the majors (all with New York), when he batted .265, led the American League with 630 at-bats and earned the third of his five Gold Gloves. The restored jersey has Richardson's #1 on the reverse... a number that is synonymous with Yankee Greatness, as players such as Billy Martin wore it before him. The Spalding shirt is Size 42 with the year 1963 chain-stitched in the front tail. The original strip tag in the collar has been removed and replaced by a strip tag out of Richardson's pants and the NY and the #1 are replacements also. An eight-time All-Star, Richardson owns the rare distinction of being the only World Series MVP ever selected from the losing team (1960).
