It's over 37-feet tall, comprised of wood, ton, plastic and concrete and has more dents than an auto junkyard. The Green Monster provides the left-field border of Boston's Fenway Park and includes a manual scoreboard among recently-added out-of-town and advertising displays. When the famed ballpark was undergoing construction after the 1933 season, the Osborn Engineering company drew up the diagrams, and here is one of them for you, framed nicely and measuring roughly 38" x 26". Beginning the very next season of 1934, that manual scoreboard made its debut, although the wall would not actually be painted green for 13 more years (ads covered the wall until then). The schematics offered here are in NRMT condition and provide a fascinating insight into one of sports' most enduring architectural achievements.
